 | | Pat Hind-White and Prince Alexis Trubetzkoy: 'The Crimean War', January 23, 2008 |
Part of the Institute's public outreach programme, Military History Nights are among our most popular activities. Organized by Mrs. Patricia Hind-White and a determined band of volunteers and regulars, they take place roughly every two weeks except during the summer months - and even then we make exceptions for an exceptional speaker!
Themes are often exotic, not always military, and always fascinating; they have ranged from Roman military education to the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, through Hurricane Hazel, the Boer War and the 1837 Rebellion, never forgetting Laura Secord and the gallant cow, and they always draw an overflow crowd. Admission is free to members and non-members alike, but reservations are required.
The lectures begin at 7:30 pm and are prefaced by a truly lavish roast beef buffet (special diet dishes available by advance request). The price is $32.95 plus service and taxes. NB: A separate reservation is required for the buffet.
To reserve for either the presentation or the buffet, please phone the Concierge at 416 597 0286. |
