The Institute is a member-based organization of interest to a wide range of concerned citizens – individuals and those from business institutions, private organizations, public and private agencies and various levels of government. The turn of the millennium has been marked by a period of tremendous change in the international security environment. In this new millennium, civilian involvement is critical. Terrorism and asymmetric warfare means the threats facing Canada are no longer "over there" and we can no longer rely on others to defend us. Public involvement in the security issues facing Canada is essential. To stay on top of change, you need to be informed. As a member of the Institute, you will be part of a growing group of Canadians who are seriously well-informed. If you are concerned about Canada, and want to participate in a more meaningful way on the key military questions facing our country, you should become a member of the Royal Canadian Military Institute. Contact Us to obtain details on how you can become a member. Members of the Institute have the following benefits: - SITREP delivered to your door six times a year (also available for download from the Institute's website).
- opportunity to increase your awareness of military arts, science, literature and affairs, and of issues affecting Canada's security and international relations.
- opportunity to use accommodation at the Institute, while visiting Toronto, and at affiliated organizations worldwide.
- other programs, special events, lectures, dinners, and travel opportunities.
